The School Accessibility Companion Guide (SACG) Tool is an essential tool school construction or rehabilitation in Uganda.
The Ministry of Education and Sports in Uganda through the Department of Special Needs and Inclusive Education is championing the agenda of “Leaving No One Behind”. To support this cause, the School Accessibility Companion Guide is developed. The Guide will support the persons or organisations working on school construction to follow the standards there in order to ensure that schools are accessible to all learners especially with disabilities.
The SACG tool complies with Uganda’s 2019 Building Control Code. It also abidea by the Persons With Disabilities Act 2020 which provides for non-discrimiantion in institutions of learning.
