Digital Learning Week 2026

· UNESCO Headquarters, Paris, France

Digital Learning Week 2026
The influence of artificial intelligence (AI) in education continues to escalate. AI tutors are reaching learners who have never had access to personalized support, ‘agentic’ AI systems are beginning to act autonomously, and synthetic content is reshaping how knowledge is produced and validated. At the same time, phenomena such as synthetic research and “ghost learners” are challenging established assumptions about evidence, participation and presence, raising urgent questions for education systems worldwide. Under the theme Education in the age of AI: Facts | Frictions | Frontiers, Digital Learning Week 2026 will examine what counts as fact in an age of synthetic knowledge, how to navigate the frictions AI is generating across education systems, and what new frontiers are emerging, from public interest AI and digital sovereignty to analogue and community-led approaches. The event will support collective sense-making and action to ensure that human agency, equity and the public purpose of education remain at the centre of education futures.
