Safeguarding policy

The safety and dignity of children, young people and adults with disabilities are non-negotiable priorities in our community.

Our standard

All members, contributors and partners are expected to uphold a child-safe and rights-based approach online and in person. We treat safeguarding as a shared responsibility across the community.

  • No personal data about children: do not post names, locations, photos or identifying details of a child or young person without explicit consent from the child, parent or guardian and the relevant safeguarding lead.
  • Respectful communication: use language that is respectful, trauma-informed and non-stigmatising.
  • Report concerns: if content or behaviour appears unsafe, harmful or inappropriate, report it to the IE Hub for Africa team immediately.

What the community can expect

The IE Hub for Africa will review concerns carefully, take proportionate action and support members to understand expectations. Where needed, content may be removed, access may be restricted and concerns may be escalated to relevant authorities or safeguarding leads.

How to contact us

If you need to raise a safeguarding concern, please contact us through the website or email the team directly. We are committed to a timely and respectful response.
