AIDS United is inviting eligible organisations and coalitions to apply for funding through its AIDSWatch@Home programme. The initiative supports locally led advocacy, policy education and community organising to strengthen responses to HIV and advance policies that protect the rights and wellbeing of people living with and affected by HIV.
The programme aims to equip community advocates to engage decision-makers, build coalitions and influence policies affecting HIV prevention, care, LGBTQ+ rights and health equity.
What the Grant Supports
Funding supports community-based advocacy activities, including:
- Organising public-facing community education and advocacy events.
- Training and mobilising local advocates.
- Building coalitions and strengthening community leadership.
- Engaging policymakers and relevant decision-making bodies.
- Developing follow-up actions to sustain advocacy outcomes beyond the main event.
Successful applicants may receive up to US$15,000, alongside technical assistance, coaching and peer-learning support.
Eligibility
Applicants must be registered nonprofit organisations or work through an eligible nonprofit fiscal sponsor. Proposed activities should address HIV-related policy or implementation issues and demonstrate meaningful involvement of people living with HIV and other directly affected communities.
The programme focuses on advocacy within the United States and its state, local, Tribal and territorial decision-making systems.
